The 19th World Congress of the International Federation of Automatic Control | Cape Town, South
Africa | 24-29 August 2014
Promoting automatic control for the benefit of humankind
IFAC 2014 is proud to be partnered with The Green Cab. The Green Cab is South Africa’s first cost-effective and uncompromisingly green transport solution. This 100% women-owned company deploys emissions-reduction technologies across their fleet, including secondary diesel polishing device and emissions slicing devices called “Blades” which are fitted to the tailpipes of the petrol vehicles. The Green Cab furthermore sequestrates the residual emissions and certifies, in conjunction with The Carbon Protocol of South Africa, that their service is carbon-neutral.
Delegates can book transfers from Cape Town International Airport to one of the official congress hotels via the online booking form here. A transfer is R275.00 per person. Bookings close 20 August, 2014. Return airport transfer bookings can be made onsite at the Congress from 27 August.
Alternatively, delegates are able to make use of Cape Town's new MyCiti Buses, Cape Town's public bus system. A ticket from the airport to Cape Town Civic Centre costs R62.00 per person. Buses depart daily every 20 minutes from 04:55 – 22:20.
Please note that the MyCiti buses stop at set stops, and will not take you directly to your hotel. Kindly note, you will need to buy a MyCiti card should you need to get onto a different MyCiti bus at the Civic Centre to take you to your hotel.
Please note that the MyCiti airport shuttle terminates at the Civic Centre and to reach other parts of the city another bus will have to be taken in order to reach your hotel. A MyCiti card will have to be purchased at the Civic Centre stop which is re-usable for the duration of your stay. Alternatively taxis are available from the Civic Centre to take you to your hotel (approximate cost R50.00)
